Week 49-May 13, 2019

Sleepless in Sanchong

What a week! It has literally been the craziest week of my mission! (probably haha)

 This week we became a trio with Sister Oh from Sanchong because her trainee got her visa and headed off to the MTC! So Monday night the assistants to the President dropped Sister Li and Sister Oh off at our apartment as well as an extra mattress! Girls night in! Haha

Then Tuesday morning we got up early to send sister li off to the airport and had district council in Siyuan. Wednesday we biked to Sanchong and had district council there as well and then left Sister Oh with a member and we made a mad dash biking-MRT-then taxi to Siyuan and taught English class then headed back and picked up Sister Oh. Thursday we spent in Siyuan and met with several of our friends and had our weekly planning session in Siyuan Friday. We then biked to our chapel for two lessons but the chapel is in Danfeng and the opposite direction from sanchong so Friday night we biked an hour and a half from our chapel, through our area, over the bridge, and home to Sanchong. It was an awesome bike ride~ the bridge at night is beautiful and we got to have a ton of stoplight gospel conversations. Church on Sunday was also quite a traveling and planning endeavour but despite the craziness, we have seen so many miracles! For example, we just had a little time to call former people being taught but we wanted to do what our district leader counseled us to, and the first former we called answered, gave us her Line, and agreed to find a time to meet! We also got picked up by a member headed to church as we were walking halfway up the hill Sunday (we would have been late were it not for them ) and although we had a lesson dropped after church, it allowed us to meet with a different friend and we had a fantastic lesson!

Ether 12:6 "And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith." 

Have faith, take action, and miracles WILL happen! Trust me! Just kidding, trust the Lord!

Week 47-April 29, 2019

What time is it?! Summertime! ☀️

Hola FamBam!

I apologize for two weeks in a row of High school musical subject lines, but it had to be done.

This week it got so hot, I got a nice ring and watch tan, and had to start carrying an extra water bottle so that when I park my bike in the sun, I can pour water on it when I come back~ otherwise it gets too hot to touch. 

This week we had Zone council and were reminded about the power of the Book of Mormon. It is the tool of the harvest and the net that will catch the elect. It was translated for this very purpose. We definitely needed that reminder and since Zone Council have been trying to use the Book of Mormon in half of our gospel conversations and all of our member visits and lessons. Thus, we got to meet with our deaf and mute friend yesterday and discuss the Book of Mormon, prayer, and church (CPR). She has a lot of concerns about baptism, but we really felt like if she could understand and feel the Spirit through reading the Book of Mormon, her concerns would be resolved. Also, it was a very new experience teaching through text. I am very grateful for technology. 

Scripture of the week: 2 Nephi 4:15

"And upon these I write the things of my soul, and many of the scriptures which are engraven upon the plates of brass. For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them, and writeth them for the learning and the profit of my children."

The Book of Mormon is the word of God and as we ponder its words in our hearts through the day, it can give us hope and peace and bring us closer to God. 

I am very grateful for the tender moments that have come through the Book of Mormon that have strengthened my testimony in it and Jesus Christ.
